I’m very happy, even though it took months due to demand.

They never admit fault or apologise, they just say, “we’ll send you some forms they’ll arrive in 2-3 working days”, “we can’t check that from here, you’ll have to call this number and wait on hold for 30 minutes.”

Someone cloned my bank card somehow and took £900 out of my account over three days from ATMs. Ironically I would have noticed earlier if I’d been able to log into internet banking when I was borrowing my house mates computer, but I left the stupid card reader at home. Barclays wont let you log in unless you carry around an annoying calculator like thing everywhere, it’s supposed to be a security feature. So I’m broke while they do whatever it is they do during a fraud investigation. Presumably I’ll get the money back eventually. At least the rent isn’t due for a while.

It happened right before my card was going to be charged for the computer I ordered. I’m not sure if the transaction will be blocked now or not. If it is blocked, Dell will probably never let me buy anything again. I dread the thought of ringing up their customer service about something like this. They’d probably want a tissue sample of my retina.  So I’ll probably be even longer without a computer at home.

Today has been a big pain in the arse. Just the other day the place that does national insurance number rang me and told me they somehow lost my forms and photocopies of all my id when they sent them via their super secure method to HQ. Today I had to go through another dead boring interview with them so they could start again. It took them 2 months to tell me this. I really hate British Bureaucracy. Isn’t the great surveillance state a success.

I’m starting to suspect that when I next try to use my passport someone will have cloned my passport and I’ll be listed on some wanted for terrorism list. So if you hear I’ve left for Australia and I never arrive you know what happened to me. I’m paranoid about my passport, because they take it away from you while they do some kind of security checking magic. Then 20 minutes later give it back to you with a stern frown of apathy. I wonder what they are doing to it. There’s report of people able to clone the chips now super easily. So all it takes is a corrupt office worker to fuck everyone over.

Actually the idea of an office worker being corrupt is almost funny. Could they be anything else? Do you have to have some kind of status of officialdom to be able to be declared corrupt?

Most of the credit card number crimes are probably just bored office workers who have access to this stuff. Ebay tempts them..

Okay enough of a rant. Maybe I can try and think about work again.

We did tight rope walking, juggling, trapeze and I don’t know what the other one was called, but it involved human pyramids. Really awesome fun. Amazing teachers, even the warm up and warm down were fantastic. I’m very sore all over today and it feels wonderful.

I’m in the process of tacking juggling 4 balls at once now. I bought some at the end.

Definitely going back.. When I woke up this morning I realised I was still thinking about it and smiling.

I think I was bitten by a bug while I was in college. There were many things being shared over DC++, ranging from episodes of Scrubs, meh, Grey’s Anatomy, bleh, and Battlestar Galactica, omg it’s really this good!!

I also found more obscure stuff, like bad quality Real Media files of most of Daria, which were awesome. And the entire series of the old X-Men animated series. I watched them all (not Grey’s Anatomy). Even though I nearly killed myself watching Battlestar Galactica for 2 days straight - with just Tim Tam’s and Nutri Grain for sustenance (bleh) — I think the most damage came from the X-Men.

There was something about the X-Men cartoon series that I found deeply connected to being 13. Anyway.. I’ve recently subscribed to Marvel digital comics, and have been delving into the infinitely deeply and richer (and more perilous) vastness of the Marvel comic collection. Given the bug, I’ve also been stopping by comic shops and picking up a Hellboy (by DC) volume or two every weekend. I’m up to six now.

They are absolutely fantastic works of art. I highly recommend them.

When buying Hellboy today, I stumbled upon a book signing with Gary Russell who’s written the new Doctor Who series.

So I had to buy it.

I’ve also been reading books with just lines of text, they’ve been emotionally intense.

I can confirm. They are very good. They’re also cheap (relatively speaking for London). In fact I think I’ll stop there on the way home tonight.

I’ve been too busy, too lazy, and too distracted to come up with anything thoughtful. But hey I guess I haven’t been all that thoughtful blog wise for a while anyway.

So news…

I’m full time. Properly employed now. Working somewhere extremely awesome. Doing stuff I couldn’t have imagined I’d be doing. *pinch*.. yep I’m not dreaming.

I’ll be in London for a while then Not sure how long. It’s nice here. I’ll see how I feel about that when winter rolls around.

I’ve written thoughtful stuff, but not bloggable stuff. I’m not really sure where the line is, but it’s there somewhere.

I went to Hampstead Heath last weekend. I really love it there. I should have been sooner. I’ll try to make it there for a walk every weekend I think. Apparently there is somewhere nearby that sells amazing waffles.. I’m still waiting on the recon before I attempt the mission though. Yes… I’m still waiting for that recon… *taps foot*

I’ve been taking photos, about once a week, so it could take me a while before I develop and flickrise them. I’ll keep you posted.
