Ahh, the Eee isn't mine haha I'll be borrowing a friends this week and messing with it some. Haven't screwed with it yet so I've no idea how I'll be running Steam or Puzzle Quest haha.

Oh, if you do have a Wii or are interested in contributing small articles regarding portable gaming, visit my friends website at http://scalegamer.com/ He's got some tips on using the EeePC over there as well if you own one.

I kinda like using the mouse. To me it will always be a DS game, and the mouse is just like a great big stylus. It's definitely my most played game in my DS.

You're running windows on your Eee? Or are you running steam in wine?

Ahh. I didn't have that issue at all thankfully. After installing that program, which took a while approving everything in Vista, I accidentally played for three hours non-stop.

Ahhh, and I had so much planned yesterday.

You know, if you've got a 360 controller plugged in, switch to using that and it automatically adopts the correct settings. Makes it damn easy to play.

Best thing about Puzzle Quest though is I can play it on my laptop on the bus home! Ahhh, so awesome. Going to see if it'll run on an EeePC later too.

Np.

I had a bug installing it, this probably wont happen to you, but I figure I'll record it here in case anyone searches for it.

After it downloaded (100meg) and I installed it, Puzzle Quest wouldn't start.

During the install it asked to install OpenAL, which is an open source audio library I think. Apparently I already had it installed, but not the recent version. Anyway it gave a message something like "files already in use - restart to complete installation" (not exact words). But on restart puzzle quest wouldn't work. If that happens to you, what has happened is the OpenAL install created OpenAL32.new in the windows/system32 directory, because there will already be an OpenAL32.dll.

Just rename OpenAL32.dll to OpenAL32.old or something, and rename OpenAL32.new to OpenAL32.dll. Viola! It should work now.
